Who: National Kidney Foundation serving Ohio

    What: Columbus 2012 Kidney Walk

    Where: Columbus Commons

When: Sunday, October 14, 2012, registration begins at 9:00am, walk begins at 10:00am

Why: The National Kidney Foundation Kidney Walk is a fun, inspiring community fundraiser that calls attention to the prevention of kidney disease and the need for organ donation. It’s also an opportunity for patients, family, friends and businesses to come together.

How: GET INVOLVED! Anyone can register as a walker or form a walk team with their family/friends/co-workers, etc. You also have the option to be an online walker if you can’t participate the day of or simply donate to the walk here: Columbus Walk. Contact Alex Rose Santer if you are interested in volunteering, sponsoring the event, or want more information: [email protected] or (614) 882-6184 ext.230.

The money raised for the National Kidney Foundation Kidney Walk will ensure that we continue our mission of helping the millions with kidney disease. About 79 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to vital NKF programs and services, including kidney disease education, early detection and prevention, advancing clinical care, supporting the search for better treatments, advocating for kidney patients, and promoting organ donation.

Check out our walk video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXZP8n-onwU ]Kidney Walk Video[/url]

The Kidney Walk takes place all over the country, with over 100 events each year. More than 75,000 Walkers have joined NKF to raise more than $7 million a year to help kidney patients and their families!

Over 26 million Americans–that’s 1 in 9 adults–have chronic kidney disease, and most are not aware of it. Because symptoms may not appear until the kidneys are actually failing, millions of people with kidney damage remain unaware and are not taking steps to protect the health of their kidneys in support of NKF’s mission.

The National Kidney Foundation is an accredited 501(c)(3) charity. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR BIGGEST ANNUAL FUNDRAISER FOR THE COLUMBUS OFFICE OF NKF!!!
