For job seekers in Ohio, there’s a chance to flourish in next-generation manufacturing using technologies like 3-D printing or innovate with careers in cybersecurity or IT. After years of large-scale layoffs due to outsourcing traditional manufacturing jobs, Moody’s Analytics projects that Ohio will grow 76,420 jobs in 2014 in fields like health care, education and skilled trades. Why Franklin County planners believe economy has ‘turned the corner’

A near-doubling of money spent on residential construction projects last year has Franklin County economic development officials touting the overall health of the local economy. The county’s annual building services report shows the cost of all construction climbed 87 percent to nearly $61 million during calendar-year 2014, from $32.7 million a year earlier.

Columbus has the Midwest’s best job growth

Columbus can lay claim to having not only the Midwest’s best wage growth, but also the top employment growth. Several weeks after being recognized for a national-best 6.2 percent hourly earnings spike from June 2014 to June 2015, Columbus has proven to be the region’s top jobs creator over a slightly different time span, from July 2014 to July 2015.
