Nice. Each year I’ve attended more games each season. I’d love to throw some cash at the crew for a season ticket.

I can’t wait for the season to get underway, I have high hopes this year now that Berhalter has more of his guys in place. I don’t think we’ll win the shield but a good playoff run should be in order I think.

Crew dude contacted me and tempted me about season tickets. I’ve been a “day of game” guy last season. Nordecke is the only place I’d watch the game from so I always went through the Crew Union.

10 game plan makes the most sense to me. Ugh decisions

Crew Stadium Renamed to Mapfre Stadium
    March 3, 2015 10:57 am – Walker Evans

After sixteen years, Crew Stadium will be no more. The Columbus Crew SC announced this morning that the naming rights have been sold for the first time ever to MAPFRE (pronounced “MAH-fray”) Insurance. If you’re not familiar with the insurance company, that’s likely because it’s actually based in Madrid, Spain.

So, how does this effect the long-rumored possibility of moving the stadium downtown? And will Nationwide throw a shit fit to stop another insurance company’s stadium from moving down the street from NWA?

I don’t think a downtown stadium is going to happen anytime soon.

Well, no, especially with the better part of a decade left on the Crew’s current 25 year lease at the fairgrounds.

I do like however how a downtown stadium is still rumored even in this Soccer City Guide dated today. http://www.mlssoccer.com/2015-mls-season-guide/city/Columbus

This really is huge for the Crew. Even though no one will pronounce it right and it sounds kinda funny when you say it, it is a huge step in the right direction for the long term success of the team in Columbus.
