Hi All — I posted some thoughts from the first meeting on my blog:

    http://soldierant.net/archives/2007/11/notes_from_the_first.html

There are links to more resources, including more-complete notes from the meeting. Let’s just say that it was a fantastic first step—very encouraging to meet so many, and such varied, folks that are feeling some of the same frustrations.

We’ll hold another meeting soon and, until then, I’d encourage anyone here who’s interested to join the Google Group that I’ve set up (information in the link above.)

    regards,

    Bryce

Hello again! I’ve been woefully behind in promoting this, but we’re going to get together again next week—very informal—to talk about progress on bringing coworking to Columbus. Many thanks to the good folks of Couchfire Collective for letting us squat at Junctionview Studios for the night!

As I said, this should be totally informal, but I’m hoping to cover some specifics, including:

    • What’s happened since the last meeting in November?

    • What formal steps have I taken to move things forward?

    • How can YOU help move things forward?

    • Planning informal coworking sessions (a la Jelly[/url]) until a space is locked down.

And, of course, we’ll have plenty of time for questions and free-form discussion. I’d also like to formulate a plan for ongoing, regular meetings (perhaps related to bullet 4, above.)

Hope that you can make it, and I’m sorry about the lack of advance notice.

    best regards,

    Bryce

Reviving a months-dead thread… believe it or not, we’re still working toward establishing a coworking space downtown. In fact, we’re holding an info-session on January 13th (Tuesday) at 6pm, in the space itself. It’ll still be a bit rough but there’s no motivator like a deadline, right?

More details here (and we’ll be revising the description there soon, too): http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/1425139/

Oh, and if you’re curious about the outcome of the last couple meetups, I wrote a year-end-summary here: http://soldierant.net/archives/2008/12/coworking_in_columbu_1.html
