    Don’t Miss Blues Night This Friday

    Friday, May 31, 7pm

    C’mon to the Commons for a night of free, live blues played under the stars. Beverage and food concessions will begin at 6:30pm, with live music kicking off at 7:15pm with Pett Crow, followed by Teeny Tucker at 8:30pm. Blankets and chairs are welcome; please leave coolers at home. For more information, click here.

    Fridays, May 31 through August 30, from 10am to 2pm
    Friday mornings are all about kids at Columbus Commons. Children can take a free spin on the carousel, bounce on inflatables, and let their imaginations soar with the Imagination Playground, Snugg Play System, the Art Box, a life size Chess game and more! The Columbus Metropolitan Library will host an engaging story time in the Reading Room at 10:30am. And don’t miss your favorite mascots and Lifeline of Ohio’s kite giveaway for the first 100 children!

    Free Concert by The Navigators Next Friday!

    Friday, July 12, from 7 to 10pm

    Columbus Commons will welcome The Navigators to the Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion for a high-energy, free concert benefiting the United Way of Central Ohio next Friday. The Navigators is comprised of Columbus executives and professionals who have raised over $200,000 for local and national charities since the band was formed. Gates open and food and beverage sales begin at 6pm

    Tonight, it’s “Pints and Pies Happy Hour” on the Commons[/url] from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. by the carousel and chairs with music by Ryan Smith. At the other end of the park you can enjoy music[/url] from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Wet Darlings and Nick Tolford & Co. will perform live music at the Bicentennial pavilion.

    Blues Traveler Performs Live at the Commons and
    Tickets are Free!

    Columbus Commons welcomes the kick-off of the FreeForAll Concert Series on August 30th with a free concert featuring multi-platinum and Grammy Award winning artists Blues Traveler at the Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion. The concert will open with three great bands: rock-and-roll legend Rick Derringer, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Family Stone, and local band Erica Blinn & the Handsome Machine. Tickets are required and can be picked up, free of charge, at locations across Columbus.

    There will be two ticket giveaways at Columbus Commons on Thursday, August 15th, the first 1,000 tickets will be distributed during Food Truck Food Court from 11am to 2pm and the second 1,000 tickets during Downtown Live from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Each person can pick up two tickets per giveaway. Additional ticket giveaways will be announced throughout the month of August via http://www.FreeForAllConcerts.com, 97.1 FM The Fan, Clear Channel Outdoor, NBC4, and Ricart. This is your chance to get to know community groups and organizations during a free family-friendly day of entertainment, youth performances, inflatables, activities for kids, and more!

    Free Columbus Symphony Orchestra Simulcast
    Saturday, October 5, 8pm to 10pm

    Take in the sights and sounds of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra for free, as their performance of Mahler’s Resurrection is played on the Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion LED Screens. In “Resurrection,” Mahler dramatically addresses life-and-death issues. Jean-Marie Zeitouni leads the orchestra, including off-stage brass echoing the last judgement from another world, two world-class vocal soloists, and a massed chorus in what is sure to be an unforgettable experience. Blankets and chairs are welcome; however, please leave coolers at home.

    Columbus Commons Annual Holiday Fair
    December 6, 5 – 9 p.m.
    December 7, 4 – 9 p.m.
    The Columbus Commons will celebrate the holiday season with a dazzling display of more than 120,000 holiday lights presented by AEP. A lighting ceremony will take place on Friday, December 6 at 6 p.m. followed by The Conspiracy Band on the Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion Stage. Activities on both Friday and Saturday include trackless train rides, carousel rides, laser tag, a fun slide, a mobile video game room, a petting zoo, facepainting, crafts, entertainment and visits with Santa (a 5.00 wristband is required for the train, carousel, laser tag, fun slide and video game room). Both nights will end with a fireworks display. There will be food trucks on site both nights, and there will be a bar on Friday night featuring seasonal spirits. http://www.columbuscommons.org
