Take part in a rare opportunity!
Colors & Bottles will run an official event of Columbus’ inaugural Alternative Fashion Week. Customers will paint from a live model outfitted with a ornate gown and headpiece created by one of the city’s most up-and-coming avant-garde fashion designers, Aaron James.
Under the direction of Rachel Murdock (Alternative Fashion Mobster and artist), the class will enjoy this interactive experience, while mixing and mingling with the Alternative Fashion Mob, including Kelli Martin of Anti-Label.
This event is NOT BYOB
Wine and appetizers will be available to purchase
$42.00 per painter. $70 for two tickets.
Each ticket sale will help raise funds for Alternative Fashion Week 2013. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to CHA Animal Shelter.

Columbus was recently ranked as the #3 US city for fashion (falling only behind New York and Los Angeles), with over 500 fashion design professionals employed here by large companies including The Limited, Victoria’s Secret, Abercrombie & Fitch, Express and several others. While that statistic is something worth being proud of, some independent designers have found little available support for growing the industry from the entrepreneurial side of things. Rather than sitting around and complaining about it, some of those designers decided to work together and start creating the types of incubation resources that they see lacking in the community.

Runway Rogue: Alternative Fashion Week

There’s more to Columbus fashion than national mass-market labels, says local designer and “Project Runway” season 5 alum Kelli Martin. And she’s organizing her own event to prove it. Her Alternative Fashion Week, running June 1 through 9, will showcase the work of 14 local designers and close with a runway show at a Franklinton warehouse.
