CbusflyerMemberThis is so awesome! Does anyone know the exact location? I think the store fronts in front of High point are going to turn around quick. Special thanks to De Novo for all your great work.

buckette13MemberI was lucky enough to spend a summer in Europe and part of the fun was visiting the small markets for fresh items for daily meals. I am sure this will be a big hit with those living nearby.

Published on March 29, 2013 1:15 pm
By: WalkerA new french market and fine dining bistro will be coming this October to Downtown Columbus as local food entrepreneur Yavonne Sarber open her third concept known Chez Du Bon. The 5,000 square foot market place will feature fresh produce, baked goods, grab-and-go food, cheeses, flowers, beer, wine and more under tall 20-foot ceilings. During the evening hours, the space will boast a 40-seat French Bistro restaurant.

billbixMemberThis is such good news for downtown. As others are saying on the front page, it is really great to see entrepreneurs like the Sarbers doing so much to increase the desirability of downtown. I am sure this market will be a huge hit.

buckette13MemberIt also seems really smart that they aren’t wasting space on stuff like breakfast cereal, canned beans etc. That stuff can be found really cheap elsewhere and probably isn’t why people will be shopping there. For that stuff go to Kroger once a month or CVS close by.

heresthecaseyParticipantJudging by the description, this has got to be headed for the old Wendy’s spot in the 5/3 building. Great to see that getting filled in, and the concept sounds very exciting.

Prices aren’t too outrageous either.

Walker EvansKeymasterUPDATE: Yavonne revealed that the location is exactly what some folks predicted: The former Wendy’s location in the Fifth Third building next to Columbus Commons!

JALParticipantCan’t wait to see this place open. The way she describes it, it should be wonderful. The Old Wendy’s location will be great. She also has some great plans for the Jazz Club that will go in the space next to Mitchells Steakhouse sometime next year.

NewsParticipantChez du Bon French Market Opening Soon Downtown
Published on August 16, 2013 4:50 pm
By: WalkerWe announced in March that Downtown Columbus would be home to a new “French Market” business this fall, but the location was left as a bit of a mystery. Today, business owner Yavonne Sarber officially confirmed rumors that Chez du Bon would be opening in the former Wendy’s location in the Fifth Third Building near the corner of State Street and High Street.
“Construction started three weeks ago and we’re still planning on opening around the end of October,” said Sarber. “We’re lining up our opening with the opening of the apartments at the Commons.”

heresthecaseyParticipantDoes the construction for this market involve the south-facing wall of the 5/3 center facing the Commons?
