Car2Go - Car Sharing Service

Last night, The Italian Village Society endorsed Car2Go’s plans to expand to Columbus.
Essentially, it allows users to use any of their cars anytime; not pay for Columbus meter parking (the company pays for that based on a GPS), reserve a car online, find where cars are via smart phone (and all kinds of other awesome!)
To me it seems like a nice intermediary between owning a car and being dependent on COTA. I can see this reducing the need for many households to need two cars. Very cool…May 15, 2013 8:03 pm at 8:03 pm #542770
Cool… I’ve used this car service while visiting Washington DC and it’s cool as hell. Columbus is making strides with it’s bike share and now car share programs. Now, let’s implement rail service!May 27, 2013 3:00 pm at 3:00 pm #542771

Love seeing the expanded transportation services coming along lately with Car2Go and the Bike Share program. If you live in the city, it’s becoming less and less imperative to own a car.September 20, 2013 7:01 pm at 7:01 pm #542775

Looks like a cool service. I wonder if they do any rebalancing of moving vehicles around so they don’t end up with big clusters of cars in one area and none in another?
Also, I’m surprised they didn’t run the home area out to the airport. I would think that would be a great way to draw users to the system supporting business travelers coming and going in the city.October 4, 2013 5:40 pm at 5:40 pm #542783
It would be nice if Easton was in the home area.
