    Harvest Festival set for Oct.28

    Thursday, October 20, 2005

Bexley’s annual Harvest Festival is scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Jeffrey Mansion, 165 N. Parkview Ave.

Co-sponsored by the Bexley Recreation Department and the Bexley Celebrations Association (BCA), the annual event will include the dedication of the tot lot playground at 7 p.m. in Jeffrey Park.

The free event includes what is described as an enchanted walk through the woods to the south of the mansion, where illuminated figures from popular fairy tales, television and movie characters are on display.

This year, other activities — such as face painting, a magician, crafts and a bonfire — are expected to occur in the meadow. Hayrides will run continuously through the evening, said Barb Greiner of the recreation department.

The event will be held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, activities will be moved inside.

“The Harvest Festival is a great family night,” Greiner said. “It’s about sharing love with family and your neighbors. Even for families who don’t have very young children, the event is age-appropriate for older children too.”
