Best Films of 2012

With the year nearly over, I thought it would be a good time to discuss the best films of the year (so far). Does anyone have any personal favorites? Big budget films or unheard of personal favorites?

I didn’t see a whole lot of films this year, but here’s what stood out as great to me:

• Moonrise Kingdom

• Looper

• The Dark Knight Rises

• The Avengers

And here’s what I anticipate to be great, on my “to watch eventually” list:

• The Master

• Prometheus

• Skyfall

• Robot & Frank

• Jiro Dreams of Sushi

• Lincoln

• Wreck-It Ralph

• Argo

• Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie

I have seen most of those. Moonrise Kingdom would be my vote.

But, I would highly recommend Jiro Dreams of Sushi. I thought my veg diet and lack of seafood knowledge would prevent my connection. But that can be set aside. That guy is dedicated in a way that I did not know was possible.
