NewsParticipantRestaurant Review: Bareburger
April 24, 2014 4:11 pm – Miriam Bowers AbbottBareburger: it seems like a good thing. Sure, there’s a little bit of chain-ness to the new Short North burger barn. The chairs and tables have a sturdy suburban accent to them, for example. But the big salvaged Yankee Trader sign that hangs proudly on one wall gives Bareburger street cred for independent spirits.

melikecheeseParticipantI do not think the price is unreasonable for the quality of the food. But everyone has their threshold for paying for food.
I’d rather pay a few bucks more for a really good “gourmet” burger then get some crappy burger from Thurmans…

OneBagTravelParticipantAte there once and didn’t find it too amazing. I still feel that The Rossi burger is the best burger in Columbus.

Rioward7ParticipantPretty expensive and was not blown away by the sides and their small portions. I will likely try it again but the bison burger I got was pretty dry. You can’t beat the location and the proximity to Nationwide Arena on game nights.

EridonyParticipantI think the real story about the new Bareburger location is that a new 3-story mixed use building was approved for Clintonville. Anyone have the rendering?

That’s because it is in Beechwold. Different neighborhood. Different neighbors.

Actually, the renderings will be reviewed/approved by the Clintonville Area Commission, so we went with Clintonville for the article:

I think he means the people of Beechwold wont get up in arms like the people closer to North Broadway. As long as there are no neighbors getting up in arms, it’s an easy approval, yes, by the Clintonville Area Commission. The people that typically get up in arms probably won’t even care or bat an eye because it’s not the ‘heart’ of Clintonville. In that respect it is different neighborhood. Different neighbors. Same area commission.
