    Auditions for world premiere of Margie

    A one-act play by Christopher Scotti and Angela Palazzolo

    Director: Joe Bishara

    The Play:
    Margie, whose early dreams were unfulfilled, suffers a sudden, tragic loss. With the help of Andrew her son, Joe her teacher, and others, she eventually moves forward to embrace life.

    *Auditions:
    Saturday, August 29, 2015, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
    Sunday, August 30, 2015, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
    *Please note, all those interested in auditioning should arrive no later than the audition start times (11 a.m. on 8/29 and 8/30).

    Location:
    The Columbus Performing Arts Center (CPAC)
    549 Franklin Avenue
    Columbus, OH 43215
    The auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
    Please bring resume, headshot, and date conflicts.

    Rehearsals:
    Rehearsals will be held at The Columbus Performing Arts Center
    (address noted above).
    Rehearsal Dates are September 14 – October 1, as follows
    September 14-17, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
    September 21 – 24, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
    September 28 – 30, and October 1, 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.

    Production Dates/Times:
    Friday, October 2, and Saturday, October 3, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, October 4 at 2:30 p.m.

    Actors will be paid.

    Available Roles:
    ANDREW – mid 20s – late 30s, the son of Margie and Earnest, is a businessman who cares deeply for his mother, his wife, and child. His early years were spent waiting for his on-the-road musician father to return home between gigs. Though Andrew grew to learn his father was committed to protecting him and his mother, he continues to have mixed feelings about his father.

    JOE –50s – 65, a dedicated working actor and director who teaches acting classes at the local city college. Women are drawn to him but he has never met anyone who gave him a reason to make a commitment.

    CLAIRE – 20s – 30s, Margie’s acting class friend who, once she sets her sites on a theatre role, goes after it, using tactics from demanding to obvious flirtation with the director.

    KAREN – 55 – 65, a lighthearted woman who playfully remembers her and Joe’s earlier relationship and hopes to rekindle the romance.
