columbusmikeParticipantNew renderings for Flats II and the Columbia Gas HQ:
One thing I noticed is that there seems to be a lack of that nice yellow brick element on the east side of the Columbia Gas building. I hope that isn’t the case…that was one of the nice architectural gestures of the building.

surber17ParticipantLooks like the last piece of land for 10 West Nationwide has been purchased:

geoyuiParticipantThe Flats II looks incomplete, like it was a rehabbed warehouse with a fresh coat of brick red paint. If you took all the landscaping away, I can imagine police officers running SWAT team exercises inside.
The Columbia Gas building looks great. 1 less surface lot gone!

Jason PowellParticipant^^The continued general lack of regard for good architectural design continues in this city. Just a little detail. That’s all I’m asking for. It’s the smallest details that make the biggest difference. The Vines II is basically a square brick box, something NRI has mastered at this point.

Walker EvansKeymasterIn unrelated Arena District news… anyone else notice that all of the shrubberies have been removed at the corner of Nationwide & High? I imagine it will get new/better landscaping. Just kind of caught me by surprise when I noticed earlier this week…

Jason PowellParticipantA nice prominent piece of art and/or a fountain would really stand out there and be a nice “gateway” feature in three directions: Downtown, Arena District and CC/SN.

Diversity in architecture and style is not too much to ask for IMO.

Glad they were able to get that piece from the railroad. The extra connection there will be a bonus for the project and the area.

columbusmikeParticipantSpeaking of that space, it would be nice to see it somehow link to Sensenbrenner Park and the park space in front of One Nationwide Plaza. Personally, I think Nationwide should revamp their plaza into a Millennium Park-like stage for concerts, etc. Their plazas/parks are severely under utilized.
