Ooh! That’s our 1st wedding anniversary! We might have to have our celebratory dinner there! We did honeymoon in Hawaii, after all!

How are those plants outside going to survive the Ohio winter?

Dispatch article today says they quietly opened last week.

    False!

Not opening to the public until the 25th.

Just an FYI for anyone trying to stop by. ;)

It looks like they fixed it. It is actually a pretty good article.

+1 If they serve Spam musubi (and what self-respecting Tiki Bar wouldn’t?) they will have to force me out with one of the torches.

I don’t see it replacing anything in my regular rotation, but it will be interesting to have something pretty different once in awhile. Never went to the Kahiki, but went once to the short lived Tropical Bistro. I would love to see the menu.

Here is a good article about the closing of Kahiki:

After reading that awesome history I am convinced that I need to hang out at the Grass Skirt dressed in my Robert Goulet costume.

Dang it! The 25th is the evening of Yom Kippur; we have to go to services then fast the entire next day. Maybe we can make a quick visit before heading over to Tifereth Israel.

The Kahiki was just down the road from my parents’ house and we used to go there a lot. I still think about the Kahiki every time I am in the produce section of the Whitehall Krogers and they set off the fake thunderstorm to moisten the veggies.
