Fans of Jimmy V’s German Village refer to it as the go-to for a good time – and with good reason. It’s a neighborhood joint, employing servers who happily punch their cards for the long haul, because, who doesn’t love it at Jimmy’s?
It appears unsuspecting, but Jimmy V’s is a true sports bar in the best sense: its fans are loyal are loud about it, the atmosphere is interactive and precocious, and the food is designed to fill, and satisfy, hearty football appetites.
The Traditional Gyro at Jimmy V’s is what you expect it to be – and there’s nothing wrong with that. The pita is fluffy and buttery, the meat plentiful, and the feta cheese is a nutty and pungent kick that subtly reminds, “this is more than bar food”.
Almost everything at Jimmy V’s is house-made, and the Gyro, with its fresh toppings and side of home-made fries, is representative of the experience you’ll find at Jimmy V’s: wholesome, fun-filled, and a little naughty. The back patio has its own special appeal, and it’s one that’s worthy of some football love.
Jimmy V’s is located at 912 South High Street, and opens at 11am daily. It’s a great spot for groups, so grab your buddies – or that day’s enemy – and check it out.
