Five-Story Hotel Proposed in German Village

A proposal was recently submitted to the Historic Review Commission for conceptual review, which could bring a new hotel building to Livingston Avenue if approved. The plan calls for the construction of a five-story building at 33 East Livingston Avenue that would house 129 guest rooms.

The plans were submitted by locally-based Jonathan Barnes Architecture and Design, which contained site plans but no renderings. The 58,750 square-foot building is slated to include a ground-floor fitness center, roof top lounge and roof top deck facing into Downtown Columbus. A 33-space surface parking would be located behind the building, accessible from Blenkner Street.

The project would require the demolition of a single-story office building constructed in 1940, but would also see the renovation of a separate historic residential building on the south end of the property located at 46 East Blenkner Street.

The Historic Review Commission is scheduled to meet and review the proposal at their next meeting on Thursday, March 15th.
