Five Stops for Gallery Hop – January 2012

The first Gallery Hop of the year is sometimes a slow one, as it has to closely follow the holiday shopping season and the first weekend after those crazy New Years parties, but the warm weather today is sure to make this a good one. Come on out tonight and celebrate what our readers have voted as the best neighborhood in Columbus in 2011: The Short North!

    1. Art – Pop Up Gallery at The Dakota

Starting tonight, The Dakota will be featuring a pop-up art gallery each month, run by Rachel Widomski. The first installation is an exhibit by local artist Jennifer Bonner, which will be open from 6pm to 10pm. More info about tonight’s event can be found HERE.

    2. Shopping – LP Designs

One of the newest additions to The Short North is LP Designs, a new home and office decor shop located at the corner of Russel and High. Their wares include everything from hand-blown glass case to candles to pillows. Swing by tonight and check the out. More info can be found HERE.

    3. Dining – Bodega

Bodega is better known for their awesome happy hour, but they’ve also got some pretty knockout food. Swing by tonight to check out their brand new 2012 menu, and feel free to stay late as they now keep their kitchen running until 1am!

    4. Party – Have Nice Things. Do Bad Things.

One part photography exhibit, two parts party. Tonight’s event is hosted by Matt Reese and will feature his photography on display at Waldo’s on High, accompanied by multiple Djs, a bar, prizes, giveaways and more. Details can be found HERE.

    5. Late Night – St. James Tavern & Hot Pita

The Best Bar of 2011 will be hosting the Hot Pita food truck tonight from 11pm to closing time. So after you’re done on High Street, hop over to the St. James for some late night fun. More info can be found HERE.

What else are you looking forward to at Gallery Hop tonight?
