When business partners Eric Hayes and Channing Centeno started Fit Food Columbus, they were looking to provide affordable, healthy and convenient (not to mention delicious) meal options that are freshly prepared the same day.
Hayes was inspired by his own challenges to find healthy meals while working in the Short North at his boutique. He and Channing decided to take things into their own hands and so became Fit Food Columbus.
“We do all of the work for you — everything is portioned, cooked and delivered within the click of a button,” Hayes explained. “We are about fitting into everyone’s life. Convenience, affordability and good food!”
Despite the name and the plethora of healthy options, Fit Food is not a diet program. It is based on the philosophy that eating right is a part of overall well-being. A person can work out diligently, but will not receive the maximum benefits of health, better sleep and higher energy without the right diet. Fit Food makes eating right much easier with low-calorie, low sodium, low glycemic and low cholesterol options. All meals are prepared gluten-free and any meal can be prepared meatless. There are even protein plus options for those looking for a little something extra. Favorites include the Flank Steak Pad Thai, Honey Chipotle Chicken with Quinoa and Granola.
Fit Food Columbus offers a variety of programs including bulk and individual orders. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and a salad are offered daily and menu items constantly changing. Orders must be placed at least a day prior to delivery, and deliveries are made daily between 9AM – 12:30PM anywhere within the 270 loop and select surrounding suburbs.
Hayes and Centeno have plans to expand delivery service and possibly add retail locations in the future. For now, they remain focused on making sure busy moms, working professionals and kitchen novices alike have access to convenient, affordable and healthy meals!
