Opening under a limited preview, four vendors are up and running at North Market Bridge Park, 6750 Longshore St. in Dublin.

Up first are:

  • Coastal Local Seafood
  • Dos Hermanos
  • Market Bar
  • Reuse Revolution

The Market will have limited hours to start, running from Thursday to Sunday. Monday through Wednesday are reserved for the dozen plus stalls still under construction.

The Market has see delays and changes to lineup due to the coroanvirus pandemic, but been a dream in the making since 2018.

“Big picture – why did we do this? Central Ohio used to have four public markets; we’re the last one standing,” says North Market Executive Director Rick Harrison Wolfe says. “This is really an ability to create a market system in Central Ohio again.”

One of Wolfe’s favorite parts of the process has been designing the space from the ground up as a new build construction. Instead of fitting a market into warehouses from the 1800s and all that comes with it, the Bridge Park Market was able to address and change what doesn’t work at the Downtown location.

At 30,000 square feet, Wolfe says he didn’t want the space to mimic the Downton Market, but instead pay homage to its design. In the works pre-pandemic, many of the details ended up being ideal for the situation the Market finds itself opening in.

There’s room to spread out in the open seating that runs down the length of the building. Along the west wall, every other vendor’s space has a wall of windows that opens to the outside with patio seating. Market Bar, which caps the north end of the space, also has a pass through to an outside patio.

In addition to being more modernized, North Market Bridge Park comes with one other big advantage – ample, free parking.

While just four vendors are open now, Wolfe hopes they’ll reach a critical mass with most vendors open by the end of the year, save a few mid-January openings. It will be nearly full-bore by the end of January 2021.

Announced vendors yet to open include:

  • Bake Me Happy
  • Black Radish Creamery
  • BREaD Bakery + Café
  • Bubbles The Tea and Juice Company
  • Falafel Kitchen
  • Hoyo’s Sambusas and Juices
  • Kintsugi Sushi Bar
  • Lan Viet
  • The Little Kitchen
  • Pasta Ditoni’s
  • The Pitt BBQ Grille

As for the the remaining spots, Wolfe has specific ideas for vendors he would like to see to round out the Market’s offerings. One spot is reserved for a grocer – produce, meat, etc., another is set up for a florist, pizza is the goal for a third stall and the fourth and final spot will function as a full-time pop-up space that will welcome a rotating selection of vendors.

“I’m not in a rush on some of these spaces,” Wolfe says. “I want the right thing. We all want the right thing, the best thing.”

North Market Bridge Park’s limited preview hours are Thursdays from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.; and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Market Bar will be open until 10 p.m. with additional merchants open until 7 p.m. if not later.
