Zaftig Brewing Co. has opened the doors to its Italian Village Brew Pub. The Worthington-based brewery is now pouring pints and serving eats at 119 E. Fifth Ave.
Imbibers will find 28 taps serving up exclusively Zaftig brews. Seven taps on each side are fixed, dedicated to the brewery’s favorites like Hazy Miss Daisy and Juice Lucy, and the rest will serve up a rotating selection of special pours. A number of special beers are on tap for the opening, including Galaxy, Too Cans, I Believe in Santa, and an Italian Village exclusive Barrel Aged Strong Ale.
There will be more Brew Pub exclusive beers to follow, flowing from the on-site five barrel tap system. Growlers and grab-and-go six packs will also be available.
Zaftig offers cocktails and wine as well. They got some help on the menus for both, partnering with Jesse Hubbard of the Great Southern Whiskey Bar on cocktails and distributor Jon Offredo for the wine.
As for the eats, Zaftig’s menu features traditional brew pub fare – from fries and sweet potato tots, to burgers and mac & cheese. They’ll balance things out with a few lighter dishes like Roasted Brussels Sprouts, an Ancient Grain Bowl and Butternut Squash Hummus. To satisfy the sweet tooth, there’s a peanut butter stout brownie, made by Short North Piece of Cake.
Currently, a limited food menu is available, with a full rollout slated for Saturday. As with its beer, Zaftig will also look to keep things seasonal with its food menu, bringing in new dishes throughout the year.
The Zaftig Brew Pub will be open from 3 p.m. – midnight Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m. – 2 a.m. Friday, 11 a.m. – 2 a.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Sunday.
