Wolf’s Ridge Brewing Company has unveiled their long awaited tap room to the public. The Downtown brewery, which opened in 2013, has been planning and reconstructing the tap room since just two months after the front of house opened. It sits at the back of their Downtown building, on the corner between Lazelle and Hickory.
The tap room, in the back of house of the restaurant, is spacious and warm. High ceiling and open beams surround several large community tables lit with candles, and a medium-sized bar studded with dozens of taps. The original windows, once covered with planks, have been completely restored. The walls have been powerwashed, and the bar counters reconstructed.
20 new beers were debuted, including a 9.3% ABV DireWolf stout that came in variations of imperial, chocolate, coffee, coconut, and chili. The snack menu, with dishes like barbecue pork rinds and spicy pickled beets, are all intended to pair well with the beer.
“We take pride in what we do, and we’re so excited to finally open the tap room. This is the perfect environment to complement the craft beer experience,” said Bob Szuter, one of several co-owners of the family-owned brewery.
