After months of construction, Westies Gastropub, located at 940 South Front Street, is finally ready to welcome eager guests. The 5,300 square feet restaurant and sports bar features two distinct spaces — a main dining room and a lounge, both with fully stocked bars — as well as an outdoor patio, ready for use in the Spring.
There are 19 televisions in Westies, making it an ideal spot to catch the upcoming March Madness and World Cup Soccer tournaments. And even though it’s a great place for sports-watching, Westies is still a gastropub, offering a gourmet take on classic American fare.
The kitchen is lead by Executive Chef Jeremy Cook, and he and his team are ready to serve everything from Pork Belly BLTs, to Lamb Chops, to Vegetarian Tomato Soup. The staff is friendly and approachable, a crucial part of the Westies experience, as pleasing the customer is the ultimate goal for owner Tony Selimi and his staff.
“This is a place, really, for anyone who wants to have good food, handcrafted cocktails, and watch the game,” says Bar Manager, Lisa Cole-DiMinno. “We want our guests to be able to relax, and want to come back time and time again.”
Westies Gastropub will officially open for business on Tuesday, January 14th.
