First Look: Saucy Brew Works
Saucy Brew Works has set a date. The brewpub and coffeehouse will make its debut in Harrison West on Friday, October 23.
The brewery takes over the former home of Caffe’ Apropos at 443 W. Third Ave. The new joint is not dissimilar to its predecessor in serving coffee by day and booze by night.
The Cleveland-based brewery’s first Columbus location houses the company’s second Saucy Coffee concept. The coffeehouse will serve up a menu of traditional espresso drinks and their own signature roast coffee that will also be sold by the pound. The speciality drink menu will take a nod from the brewery with sippers inspired by Saucy’s beers.
As for the beers, Saucy will pour 19 of its own brews and one guest tap that’s reserved for BrewDog, who the brewery says was instrumental in helping them set up shop in Columbus and is also a frequent collaborator.
A pizza and wing-centric menu puts the pub in brewpub. Stone oven baked wings come in seven sauce varieties and pizzas stray outside the traditional pie. A handful of shareables, sandwiches and salads round things out.
Saucy Brew Works will open with both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoors there are some unique spots to park, with rows of swing seats. Outside, the patio stretches down both sides of the building.
The coffeehouse has a separate entrance and small seating area. It will also serve as the hub for carryout and curbside pickup orders.
Saucy Brew Works will be open from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 11 a.m. – midnight Friday and Saturday. Coffeehouse hours are Monday to Friday 6 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
