The Highpoint on Columbus Commons officially got its first retail operator today with the grand opening of PurePressed Juicery at 194 South High Street. The new fresh pressed juice bar is offering a menu of mixed fruit, vegetable and nut juices all made in-house where customers can see the process.
“One of the things we wanted to do differently is to have the juicer in eye-shot so people can come in and see what we’re doing and how much produce goes into the process,” said PurePressed owner Greg Mansell. “That’s something I always wanted to see when I went into other juiceries — what’s going on in the back.”
The small shop takes up 905 square feet, but Mansell says the space is very efficient in its use. Customers will be able to come in to grab juices in the morning post-workout at the gym, on the way to work or on the way home due to accommodating hours from 6am to 8pm weekdays. PurePressed aims to differentiate itself from other juice bars not only because of its Downtown location, but also because they feature 100% organic products.
“People always ask why organic is so expensive,” explains Mansell. “But really what they should be asking is why processed food is so cheap.”
In addition to juices, PurePressed has a menu of salads, acai bowls and healthy snacks for the Downtown lunch crowd. Mansell says that he expects Downtown residents to be his biggest market though, and is excited to see that demographic slated to expand over the next several years with multiple new apartments planned or under construction.
“When we had our launch party last week, around 250 people came through and at least half were from Highpoint and The LC Annex,” he said. “We’re very excited that we’re down here right now, and as these other residential projects wrap up we feel it will be perfect for our concept.”
PurePressed is open 6am-8pm Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm on Saturday and open on Sunday only for special events.
