First Look: New Target Store on High Street

The new Target store location near Ohio State’s campus officially opened on Wednesday, July 18 with a soft opening to the public. The small-format store at 1892 N. High St. is approximately 28,000 square feet, while the typical Target store sits right around 135,000 square feet. It features many of the departments customers of Target are used to seeing, with attention especially paid to the needs of the local college demographic.

The new store features a proportionally larger clothing section, taking up much of the center of the store; a market section featuring both fresh produce and quick, on-the-go meals; and a cold beer and wine section, an addition that some customers may not have come across at other Target locations. The store also features a Starbucks, pharmacy, and Ohio State gear section, making the store a convenient stop for students, professors, and campus residents alike.

Target will celebrate its grand opening on Sunday, July 22 at 8 a.m. As a gift, complimentary reusable bags will be distributed to the first 1,000 guests.
