Front Street Bar & Grill is the latest venture from Kevin and Lori Ames, who, last year, opened both Frezno Restaurant & Bar and Jack Whitney’s in the Brewery District, both of which are now closed. Front Street is in the former Frezno spot, 460 South Front Street, and it’s billed as a reincarnation of the Jack Whitney’s concept.

That means a place where folks can drink, eat, and hang. There’s a game room/lounge with comfy chairs and couches, a couple of tvs, and pool tables, a dining room with a fully-stocked bar, and a kitchen putting out pretty tasty food.

Menu items include soups and salads, like Spicy Turkey Chili, sandwiches, like Fancy Grilled Cheese and Turkey Reuben, small plates, like a House-made Sausage Platter and Spicy Pork Tacos, and entrées, like Beer Battered Fish & Chips and Short Rib Osso Bucco. Plates cost anywhere from $3 – $16.

Weekly specials include Prime Rib on Fridays and Grilled Cheese Mondays. There are eight taps at Front Street, all serving craft beer (except one, which serves Stella Artois), and about 20 other beers in bottles and cans. Four televisions adorn the bar/dining area, which can seat about 60 guests at a time.
