First Look: Emmett’s Cafe
Emmett’s Cafe will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, October 24 at 744 S. High St.
Owner Ben Kelley describes the spot as an all day cafe, pairing strong coffee and food menus.
In the eats department, the 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. breakfast menu includes dishes like a breakfast burrito, overnight oats, avocado toast and more. Sandwiches and pitas join the lineup at 11 a.m., with The Emmything, a Matija everything roll with rosemary aioli, pulled chicken, white cheddar, crispy prosciutto, tomato confit and arugula, the Fancy Falafel Pita and the Prosciutto Press. A lineup of salads and bowls are available all day.
Kelley is joined by experienced industry partners Robin Myers, Josiah Littrell and Lara Pipia. Kelley says they’re excited to join a growing list of local, high-energy spots populating South High Street in the Brewery District. He sees it becoming another destination where folks can hop from place to place.
“The more pockets you have in Columbus, the better the city becomes,” Kelley says.
The plans for Emmett’s were well underway before the pandemic struck. It has adjusted things – like their seating. The cafe houses a few tables, but will largely focus on carryout during the winter months. The address does come with a spacious back patio, equipped with heaters and space for guests to wait for to-go orders.
Emmett’s Cafe will be open daily from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
