The truest harbingers of the growing season — farmers’ markets and pick-your-own farms — are gradually springing back to life. Although the early pickings are relatively slim, there are options: strawberries, lettuces and asparagus (as well as tiny plants for home gardeners).
And, before long, the seasonal stands and fields will be hopping. In Columbus this year, several opened their “doors” during the Memorial Day weekend, with many more planning to be in business by July.
