The brand new Heart of Africa exhibit opened two weeks ago at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and has already been entertaining thousands of guests interested in seeing lions, giraffes, warthogs, cheetahs, ostriches, wildebeests, gazelles and more.
“It’s Africa in Columbus and words can’t describe what you see out there,” Assistant Curator Adam Felts told CU reporter Sally Xia in May during a media preview of the new exhibit. “It is Jack Hanna’s vision of people coming to the zoo and being swept away with Africa.”
