Winter brings a serenity to “this very special park.” Green Lawn Cemetery’s 171-year history makes it a place of reflection and beauty and its 33 free-standing monuments are highlighted especially in winter. Co-led by naturalist Randy Rogers (Green Lawn Board of Trustees President) and historian, Doreen Uhas Sauer (Columbus Landmarks Education Coordinator & Green Lawn Board Member), the two share stories of those who helped build Columbus, interpret Victorian Cemetery philosophy and design and take us on an exploration of recent and planned restorations. Tour begins inside the magnificent Huntington Chapel, located near the center of the cemetery. Please dress appropriately for the weather-this is an outdoor tour!
