The Whitney is now close to completion nearly four years after breaking ground. The development, which sits on the corner of Mt. Vernon and Hamilton Avenues in the King Lincoln District, has long been mired in financial difficulties and last year received $3.4 million in assistance from the city. The two and three-bedroom townhouses are now leasing, with prices ranging from $830 to $1,400 per month.
There are three styles available; two-bedroom units with and without a den come with a one-car garage and patio while three-bedroom units come with a two-car garage and a small backyard. All of the units are two stories with a basement, two and a half baths and washer/dryer hookups.
Nina Masseria of Carriage Trade Realty, which is managing the apartments, reports that 10 of the 28 units are currently reserved with some tenants planning on moving in starting in April. She also says that she’s been encouraged by the interest so far in the project and is hopeful that the rest of the townhouses will be spoken for soon.
