Watershed Looking for Black Walnut Donations

July 11

  • Sumo

Unfortunately, due to all the rain this summer, the black walnut harvest is lighter than expected. In order to meet the demand for our Nocino later this year and in 2020, Watershed Distillery is hoping to tap into the bounty within the local community to procure enough black walnuts to ensure no one goes without.

We are asking members of the community with a black walnut tree(s) growing on their property, if they are willing to part with the green (unripe) walnuts that are prevalent at this time of year. If applicable, Watershed Distillery may be able to use those to produce the sweet, black walnut liqueur that Watershed has become known for locally and nationally.

To ensure production standards are met, some restrictions and rules do apply. Interested parties should email [email protected] if they think they could gather at least 25 pounds of green walnuts before July 16.
