Voces Solis, Pittsburgh’s premier chamber choir

September 30, 2018 4:30 pm @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Voces Solis is Western Pennsylvania’s premier chamber choir, performing a diverse repertoire of challenging and innovative choral works. Voces Solis also collaborates with other arts organizations to bring the highest quality choral chamber music to the Pittsburgh area. Recent collaborators have included the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, The Chieftains, and the Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh. The Passing of the Year, Jonathan Dove’s masterwork for double choir, anchors this program of music for choir, piano, organ, and flute. In this seven-movement choral cycle, Dove utilizes the full expressive capability of the piano and human voice to interpret fascinating and evocative poetry by William Blake, Emily Dickinson, George Peele, Thomas Nashe, and Alfred Lord Tennyson. Also featuring works by David Lang, Eric Whitacre, John Rutter, and James MacMillan, Voces Solis presents an eclectic concert that you won’t want to miss!
