Virtual Gallery Hop

October 3 @ 1:00 pm - 11:30 pm

On Saturday, Oct. 3, starting at 1 p.m., art lovers can enjoy Gallery Hop from the comfort of their own homes with Virtual Gallery Hop. Columbus’ favorite day of the month to celebrate art will continue virtually, primarily via the @ShortNorthArtsDistrict Instagram Story, as well as on the Short North Arts District Facebook. The October Virtual Gallery Hop will feature nine brand new exhibitions, many of which will also be on view to the public in-person, in addition to products and promotions from District retailers, local performances, and more.

October’s new exhibitions in the Short North Arts District include “Ten: A Decade of BRG,” celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Brandt-Roberts Galleries; “Heart on your Sleeve,” an interactive wall installation at Hammond Harkins Galleries, which prompts visitors to add their own 2D memento; and “Hit the Hop,” an annual, open-call, juried exhibition at Studios on High Gallery. A full listing of October art exhibitions and activities is available below. In addition to Virtual Gallery Hop, select art galleries will be open to the public, with many offering private appointments. Specific details on how to shop and explore Short North Arts District galleries during this time can be found at ShortNorth.org/ArtByAppointment. Visitors to the District can also discover other public art via Experience Columbus’ Short North Arts District Art Trail.

Those interested in visiting the Short North Arts District in person can learn how to make their visit Short North Safe at ShortNorth.org/ShortNorthSafe. Masks are currently required for entry into any Short North Arts District business. Local businesses are also taking additional safety precautions, such as offering private appointments, limiting capacity, increasing routine cleaning, encouraging clients to social distance and sanitize, and more. Select local retailers, restaurants, cafes, and other Short North Arts District businesses are open to the public for shopping, carryout and dine-in services, and more. Visitors can enjoy a discount on contact-free parking via the ParkColumbus app with a complimentary validation code. For more parking and transit information, visit the Parking & Transit page of ShortNorth.org or download the Parking & Transit Guide.
