Virtual Author Talk: Tayari Jones

June 26 @ 2:00 pm

Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) will host Tayari Jones for a free virtual author talk this Friday, June 26 at 2 p.m.

As part of CML’s Carnegie Author Series, Jones was originally scheduled to lead an author talk on Sept. 20 at Main Library. However, she has graciously agreed to do her talk virtually due to the uncertainty surrounding hosting large public events, now and in the near future, as a result of COVID-19.

CML is happy to host Jones at a time when our communities are having important conversations about racism in our country.

Those interested in attending can click here to register, attend and also view a recording of the program after it concludes.

Jones will discuss her 2018 novel, An American Marriage, which was a New York Times bestseller, an Oprah’s Book Club pick and selected by President Obama for his 2018 summer reading list.

She is a native of Atlanta, which serves as the setting for An American Marriage, as well as her other novels, Leaving Atlanta (2002), The Untelling (2005), Silver Sparrow (2011) and her forthcoming book, Old Fourth Ward.

Jones is a graduate of Spelman College, the University of Iowa and Arizona State University. She is an A. D. White Professor at Large at Cornell University and the Charles Howard Candler Professor of Creative Writing at Emory University.

For more information, visit her on Facebook, Twitter or at tayarijones.com.

The Carnegie Author Series is sponsored by NBC4.
