Thurber House Evenings with Authors: Patti Callahan Henry – cancelled

March 24 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Presented by Thurber House, Evenings with Authors is a series of readings and chats with nationally known authors, followed by a Q&A session, book signing, and a punch and cookies reception.

The Winter/Spring 2020 Evenings with Authors Series is presented by The Ohio State University Libraries.

Patti Callahan Henry is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of 15 novels. In 2020, she was named the Harper Lee Distinguished Writer of the Year. Her novel Becoming Mrs. Lewis illuminates the story of poet and writer Joy Davidman, the woman C.S. Lewis called “my whole world.” Joy began writing letters to him for spiritual answers, not love. Everything about her seemed ill-matched for an Oxford don and the beloved writer of Narnia, yet they bonded over their letters. Embarking on the adventure of her life, Joy traveled from America to England, facing heartbreak and poverty and discovering friendship and faith. Joy lived at a time when women weren’t meant to have a voice—and yet her love for C.S. Lewis gave them both voices they didn’t know they had.
