The Spotlight Featuring South High Students & Poet Scott Woods

February 5 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

How can you support your neighborhood schools in 2019? Join Southside STAY at Two Dollar Radio HQ for a special evening featuring author and poet Scott Woods and students from South High School sharing their inspiring work. A percentage of food and drink sales that evening will be donated to Southside STAY to support South High School. We will also receive item donations for South’s Student Success Store (see list below), which provides students at South a free, anonymous place to shop for items to meet their needs. STAY will also give a quick update on how you can get involved in supporting your schools in 2019. Join us!

Student Success Store Donations (should be new):
Warm coats, hats, gloves, and scarves
Hygiene items
Clothes

Scott Woods is the author of Urban Contemporary History Month (2016, Brick Cave Books) and We Over Here Now (2013, Brick Cave Books) and has been featured multiple times in national press, including multiple appearances on National Public Radio. He was the president of Poetry Slam, Inc. and is the co-founder of the Writers’ Block Poetry Night. In April of 2006 he became the first poet to ever complete a 24-hour solo poetry reading, a feat he bested in 2007 by performing for another 24 hours, but without repeating a single poem.
