September 22 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Night Owls become Light Owls as we bring popular live
music from Cbus to the MAC on Sunday
afternoons for a 5-part series presented by PNC Arts Alive!

Tickets are $5

Enjoy Suge’s Smokehouse Enterprises, LLC. and drinks by Zaftig Brewing Co. and Watershed Distillery while you rock out in broad daylight and still make it to bed on time.

Art activity with Yani Sheng, who’s work is on exhibit.

The first concert of the series will feature bands Mistar Anderson and Kashis Keyz.

MISTAR ANDERSON
Mistar Anderson began with emcee Eric Rollin, drummer Andre Walker and guitarist Ryan Sullivan performing hip-hop covers. By 2013, they released original music with both hip-hop and jazz inspirations, and their band grew, adding trombone, saxophone, keys and bass guitar. The band name was originally Mister Anderson with an “e” after The Matrix character, but the members decided to change it to Mistar Anderson with an “a” to set themselves apart in Google searches and have a name with “star” in it. “We’re stars, you know,” emcee Eric Rollin says.

Fun Fact: Drummer Andre Walker paints turtles. “I try to use them in a social stand point of view. People aren’t threatened by turtles usually. So, I can… maybe make someone think about something they wouldn’t think about by presenting it through a turtle,” he says.

KASHIS KEYZ
Kashis Keyz was born in Columbus and started performing at age nine, inspired by his uncle who was a road manager for Snoop Dogg. As a child, Kashis even performed on tours run by his grandmother who owns Sankofa Kuumba Cultural Arts Consortium, highlighting African dance and drumming. Early on, Kashis was inspired by rappers Nas and Kanye West for their authentic story telling and awareness of societal issues. Kashis writes his own work and is honing his freestyle skills.
