The Ohio State University ROTC and Buckeye Wellness will host the 2019 ROTC Wellness Boot Camp on Wednesday, April 24 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Ohio Stadium, rain or shine. This year’s event will take place on Wednesday, April 24th from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at Ohio Stadium. As in years past, participants will enjoy a fun and free fitness event, while showing support for our Buckeye ROTC group and the U.S. Military. Additionally, LTC John T. Toohey and MSG Christian LaFever are inviting ROTC units from across the state and our marketing team will encourage participation from students, faculty, staff and Central Ohio community members of all fitness levels – this event is open to anyone ready to Compete with the Elite!
For the 2019 ROTC Wellness Boot Camp, cadets in our Ohio State ROTC will coordinate logistics and run a series of fitness activities. Teams of four to six members will complete six stations ranging from sit-ups and push-ups, to carrying water cans through a slalom, to running up the stadium stairs. Teams can sign up for one of three different fitness levels (light, moderate, vigorous). The activities are designed to accommodate all skill levels based on what each team chooses. Points for each activity are tallied on a special scorecard and teams choose which branch of the military they support with their points. A trophy will be presented to the branch with the most points. Additionally, the top three teams in each tier will earn prizes for winning the competition!
