The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis

March 8 @ 8:00 pm

On Monday, March 8 at 8 p.m. The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis is presented by PNC Arts Alive, Denison University, the Jazz Arts Group, and an anonymous donor. Hartzler Pianos is providing a Steinway Concert Grand Piano for the performance.

Under Music Director Wynton Marsalis, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) performs a vast repertoire, from rare historic compositions to Jazz at Lincoln Center-commissioned works, including compositions and arrangements by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Fletcher Henderson, Thelonious Monk, Mary Lou Williams, Dizzy Gillespie, Benny Goodman, Charles Mingus, and many others. Tonight’s performance will leave audiences inspired and uplifted with the full vigor, vision, and depth of America’s music.

A pre-concert recorded interview will also be offered during which NEA Jazz Master and multiple Grammy Award-winning trumpeter/composer Wynton Marsalis speaks with Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center Principal and Director, Dr. Milton Ruffin, and students from the school. The taped pre-show interview gets underway at 7 with the live-streamed concert starting at 8 p.m. Access to this FREE event is available at https://www.jag.tv/specialevents.
