“This is our favorite project of everything we have ever done,” said Zoe Johnstone, co-founder of the Johnstone Fund.

“The energy and creativity that these wonderful artists bring to this project has taken our breath away,” said Jack Johnstone, co-founder of the Johnstone Fund. “It leaves us speechless with wonder and gratitude.”

The Johnstone Fund sponsored four previous SCORE events over the last two years, starting with SCORE: Composer to Performer in March of 2017, which was a “speed dating” opportunity for local ensembles to meet local composers and hear their music performed by CODE. The first SCORE event spawned several performances and commissions by local ensembles and was followed by three subsequent SCORE events with the Columbus Symphony and VIVO Music Festival. The Big SCORE now incorporates six new works, set to music by composers from the first SCORE event.

Sunday at Central will present this program again as part of its recital series on September 8 at the Columbus Performing Arts Center. Admission will also be free.

This performance is part of the free New Music at Short North Stage concert series. Short North Stage is located at 1187 North High Street in the Short North Arts District. Seating is limited and available on a first-come first-served basis. This performance is recommended for guests ages nine and older. Cocktails are available for purchase an hour before the performance at Ethel’s Lounge, adjacent to the theater. Parking is available at a lot just south of the theater and at nearby meters. Free street parking is available after 6:00 p.m. on weekdays on the south side of Fifth Avenue west of High Street.
