Red Oak Community School is hosting a unique take on the Japanese spring matsuri (festival). Students from this nature-immersion elementary school have directed and will perform a happyokai (student recital) to kick off the afternoon’s festivities along with the Columbus Koto Ensemble.
Afterwards (1:30pm) the mini festival opens with activities such as a green tea ceremony, a summer kimono try on, a food truck, games and raffles, and a chance to make your own rolling, rolling rice ball.
Admission to the festival is free, activities are all low cost. Credit card and cash are both accepted, and the event is rain or shine.
