Join Speak Easy on Zoom for TRUE STORIES, TOLD LIVE on Thursday November 5th, 2020. Our theme this month is Feast! Tell us your stories about the best meal of your life, the first time you ever cooked for others, cooking disasters or delicious tales, you know we want to hear them. But also, like every month, feel free to tell a story the theme inspires. We are also live streaming the show on Speak Easy’s Facebook page.
Since our theme is feast we thought it would be fun to share a virtual feast during the open mic, as well as support a local business effected by the pandemic. So we’re planning on ordering food from Lavash Cafe! If you’d like to participate, head over to www.lavashcafe.com and place a pick up or delivery order for sometime between 6-7:00pm. In our humble opinion they have some of the best hummus in town, we personally love their chicken shawarma sandwich! If you’ve got multiple people in your home they also offer combo platters that are a genuine FEAST! There’s a variety of tasty vegetarian options as well.
We’ll open up the “meeting” at 6:30pm for anyone who would like to tell or hangout before. To tell, you’ll have to make sure you have access to a webcam and audio (there’s a link below to test those features in Zoom). Stories start around 7:15pm.
If you’d just like to watch, you don’t have to use webcam/audio capabilities, and you won’t have to video broadcast if you’d prefer not to. Although I imagine our tellers would love to see your faces/reactions to their stories!
Everyone except the tellers and host are muted during stories to cut down on overlapping audio. However, you can jazz hands, thumbs up, visibly react to stories on webcam, or comment in the chat room.
**We will be recording the event and sharing it to our Facebook page afterwards. If you want to tell but not be recorded, let us know before your story and we’ll stop recording.**
Lastly, this is a FREE event! We want to keep meeting and sharing stories however we can.
