Why are we sorting children’s books?
Earlier this year young professionals from across the city came together for United Way LINC’s fourth annual Books & Brews book drive happy hour. The event was hugely successful, garnering 3,600+ new and gently used children’s books for ages 0-18 years. These books will be distributed through United Way of Central Ohio funded youth programs at our partner agencies across the community, but we need your help sorting all the books by age range so we can save our nonprofit partners precious time and allow them to get the books into kids hands as quickly as possible.
Every child, regardless of economic background, deserves access to books in their home. Unfortunately, one in three families in central Ohio can’t meet basic living expenses so books just aren’t in the budget. These book donations will help provide more kids with crucial tools for development of vocabulary, literacy, fine motor skills, etc.
