Senator Sherrod Brown and Councilwoman Elizabeth Brown featured at CMC Conversation 2019

July 19 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Public Service: It’s a Family Business

The Adams. The Roosevelts. The Kennedys. The Bushes. The Tafts. Since our nation’s birth, the ability to engage in public service has been one of our greatest freedoms, and one which is often passed from generation to generation.

Ohio’s Sherrod Brown has served in several key positions at both the state and federal level, starting his political career in 1974. Now a U.S. Senator, Brown shares the political spotlight with his daughter, Elizabeth, who launched her political service as a Columbus City Councilmember in 2015 and serves as its President Pro Tempore. The Browns will discuss what it’s like to be a multi-generational political family and why they believe public service is so important to every American.

Conversation 2019 is CMC’s annual fundraiser to build the Founders and Leaders Fund at the Columbus Foundation that recognizes the service and leadership of CMC’s founders and board members to assure and provide for a sustainable future.
