PreCycle Day is a city-wide free exchange of reusable items. Residents set furniture, toys, clothing, household goods, and other no longer needed things at their curbside. Neighbors peruse the items, taking what they want and giving things new life. Unlike a garage sale, all items put out for PreCycle Day are free.
The event aims to:
* promote the sustainable practice of keeping reusable items from the landfill and saving the energy required to * process trash and recycled items;
* connect residents who want to declutter unwanted items with those who want to give those treasures a new life; and
* build community by providing a positive way for neighbors to connect.
