Orange Line Holiday Train Exhibit

December 6, 2019 5:30 pm @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Center for Architecture and Design is once again pleased to host a Lazarus holiday tradition with a cityscape-inspired holiday train window display called the Orange Line.

The well-crafted model is a powerful and evocative tool unique to the design professions. Once again we invite architects, landscape architects, designers of all types, and students to show off their model-making chops and visionary thinking as we collectively contemplate possibilities for the Columbus skyline. This year’s theme is Holiday Greetings from the City of the Future.

Last year, several student teams participated in the Orange Line exhibit with fabulous designs, and we’re looking forward to student participation again this year. Firms, please consider sponsoring a student team.

Up to 15 participating teams may purchase a 12”X18” plot along the train line – upon which to mount their concept (a model) inspired by the festive spirit of the holidays. Or firms and organizations are invited to sponsor a student design team to create their model. Models will be constructed with all white Legos® (clear or glass is acceptable) and should be no shorter than 24” and not taller than 48”.

Registration is open. Legos® sets are available at The Center to be picked up and used for your model. We can also deliver them to your firm or school. Models are due Monday, Dec. 2.

Please plan to join us at The Center, 50 W. Town St., Suite 110, Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. for an opening reception to celebrate the unveiling of the 2019 Orange Line.
