Watershed Distillery’s drive-thru version of Nocinofest 2020 is scheduled for December 4 and 5. In addition to the traditional release of this year’s batch of the famed black walnut liqueur, it will also feature the debut of Watershed Nocino Finished Bourbon, the world’s first-ever bourbon finished in Nocino barrels. The distillery is releasing this in celebration of 10 years of independent distilling.
Highly limited and offered exclusively at the Watershed Distillery Bottle Shop, this age -stated bourbon was rested just shy of five years and bottled at barrel strength. The spirit notably features rich flavors of vanilla, toasted oak, and warm spice, imparted from the time spent in barrels that previously held Nocino.
“This bourbon release is special,” stated Greg Lehman, CEO of Watershed Distillery. “Not only is one of the most mature bourbons we’ve ever bottled, but the barrel we’ve aged it in adds such a distinct flavor. It is the perfect way to celebrate 10 years of making spirits in Columbus.” Nocino Finished Bourbon is bottled at 59.5% alcohol by volume, available in 750 ml bottles, and retails for $79.99.
To avoid long waits and the disappointment of waiting but coming home without a bottle, for the first time ever, Watershed will offer this highly limited bourbon for sale via lottery.
“As we’ve seen the demand for limited bourbon increase, and out of a desire to keep our customers as safe as possible, we are requiring all who are interested in buying a bottle to register online,” said Lehman.
To enter the lottery for Nocino Finished Bourbon, please visit https://www.watersheddistillery.com/lottery between November 16 and November 30, and complete an entry. One entry per person; duplicates will be removed. Must be 21 years or older to enter the lottery. Lottery entrants will receive notification from the distillery via email with the results. An ID matching the lottery entry will be required for purchase. Each lottery winner will be able to purchase one bottle. Bottles must be purchased and picked up on Friday, December 4, or Saturday, December 5, between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, or the bottle will be forfeited. The lottery only applies to the Nocino Finished Bourbon and not to Barrel Aged Nocino or the distillery’s other spirits, which will be available for purchase on site without pre-registration
Similar to other drive-thru events hosted by the distillery earlier this year, this year’s Nocinofest will take place at 1145 Chesapeake Avenue, Suite D, and customers will enter Chesapeake Avenue from Northwest Boulevard and exit via Virginia/King Avenue.
