After a pandemic year left people feeling isolated and diminished, artist Adam Brouillette decided to create works with a sense of adventure.
During the pandemic, he found himself watching documentaries about history and mythology and responded to the allegories in those stories as related to the current state of the world. His familiar characters are found in hedge mazes, adrift on swirling seas, and discovering new environments, all while protecting precious objects and looking to the brighter future.
The exhibition will feature more than a dozen new paintings created since the start of 2021. All works will be on display over the month of March with an opening on March 5, 4-6pm. All works available for sale through the gallery. This is the second exhibition of Adam’s work at Sarah Gormley Gallery.
