Make Music Day, a global celebration of music, takes place annually on June 21st. Millions of people in 800 cities in 120 countries will participate, including Columbus’s “Sheet Music Specialists”. Stanton’s Sheet Music (Stanton’s), which distributes sheet music to musicians and provides expert consulting for music education professionals, will be hosting their own Make Music Day event.
Visit the store at 330 S. 4th St. downtown, Columbus to support local artists and enter to win a $25 Gift Certificate. Stanton’s also welcome you to participate from home. Use #makethemostmusic to show social media that Stanton’s musicians’ make the most music.
Local artists will perform in either the newly renovated James E. Strouse Recital/Workshop Hall, or at the front of the sales floor, which will be transformed into a front and center stage. The event will be broadcasted LIVE on the Stanton’s Facebook and Instagram profiles. Performance times are posted in the Facebook event hosted by Stanton’s. This daylong celebration of making music started in France in 1982. Make Music Day is presented by the NAMM Foundation (National Association of Music Merchants) and coordinated by the nonprofit Make Music Alliance.
